David Rost
David Rost, Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel of Beneficient, oversees the company’s legal and compliance affairs and advises its Board of Directors and executive leadership on corporate governance, capital markets, strategic transactions, regulatory matters, and litigation.
Mr. Rost’s experience spans public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, private equity secondary transactions, and the development of financial products and services. He joined Beneficient as Associate General Counsel in 2020, was promoted to General Counsel in 2022, and was named Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel in 2026.
Before joining Beneficient, Mr. Rost was a corporate attorney at Haynes and Boone, LLP, where he represented public and private companies in capital markets and securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and private equity transactions. He also advised public companies on disclosure obligations, securities law compliance, and corporate governance.
Mr. Rost received the Texas General Counsel Forum’s 2023 Magna Stella Award in the Major Transaction category for his work on Beneficient’s go-public transaction. In 2022, Attorney Intel named him one of the Top 50 Attorneys of Dallas.
Mr. Rost earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Cedarville University, a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a master’s degree from the University of Dallas.
